Our Continuing Response to Covid-19

In response to the spread of COVID-19, we have enhanced our system of infection controls to support the safety of all our clients, families and the caregivers that serve them.

We are prescreened everyday prior to any client visits or reporting to work. Informed by public health guidelines and the CDC, we help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, the seasonal flu and other infectious diseases.

Our safety protocols include:

  • Pre-visit screening and checks for caregivers.
  • Safeguards to support safety.
  • Expanded PPE Requirements and Training.

The top priority is always the safety and well-being of our clients. This ensures better trained caregivers and informed caregivers, new more rigorous protocols and procedures continually updated communications in this rapidly changing environment.

Restaffing due to illness:
If a staff member is sick or has a fever, they must stay home and you will be immediately notified and they will be removed from any care visits and cleared to return to work in accordance with the public health guidelines.

Hand washing:
When arriving at a client’s home, our caregivers are instructed to wash their hands immediately before starting care.

Gloves:
When using gloves to help a client with personal care, and instructed to dispose of them immediately after use.

Thermometers:
Caregivers can do pre-visit temperature checks before each visit.

Post-Symptom Clearance:
If a caregiver has exhibited any flu-like symptoms, they must pass our clearance process before returning back to work, in accordance with the CDC guidelines.

Increased Communication:
We can provide additional care notes after each visit, and protocols to keep families informed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements and Training:
All caregivers are required to wear masks and gloves when interacting with a client who exhibits any flu-like symptoms and are trained on proper PPE usage via video.

PPE continues to be a requirement for caregivers when providing personal care, including bathing, toileting, or other activities where there could be contact with bodily fluids. We are continuing to utilize masks in the home when appropriate and per request of clients and family.
